This exciting and rapidly growing meat & seafood distribution company is seeking talented butchers/meat cutters to join our team!
General Summary:
The Butcher/Meat Cutter cuts, trims or prepares consumer-sized portions of meat to fill customer orders in a timely and consistent manner for daily delivery routes as well as stock meat for inventory and ensure quality and freshness throughout the work week by performing the following duties:
• Smokes, cures, creates recipes and makes bacon!
• Cuts, prepares, grinds and handles all meat, poultry and seafood in accordance with company standards
• Cut meat by weight specification (Portion control); Prepare all product to specification of customers’ orders
• Ensures department sanitation, cleanliness and safety standards are met
• Sharpen and adjust cutting equipment
• Store product in refrigerators/freezers at required temperature
• Report and resolve food safety issues
• Clean work area to maintain health and sanitation standards
• Break down production equipment and prepare machinery for the next shift
• Participate in ongoing training sessions
• Other general production duties as required
Qualifications & Skills:
• Demonstrated skill in meat cutting, wrapping and handling
• Excellent communication, organizational and multitasking skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to follow sanitation dress code standards
• Must be able to meet physical demands including standing, bending, twisting, repetitive motion and lifting up to 50lbs regularly
• Ability to work in warehouse environment in areas with variations of temperatures (cooler / freezer)
• Must be at least 18 years of age
