Description

Friday Night is LADIES NIGHT at Stray Cat Film Center, but don't worry, everybody's welcome! A young woman in a small Kansas town survives a car accident, then agrees to take a job as a church organist in Utah. En route, she becomes haunted by a bizarre apparition that compels her toward an abandoned lakeside pavilion. This macabre masterpiece gained a following in late-night television and continues to inspire filmmakers today. LADIES NIGHT is a monthly series hosted by Stray Cat programmer Danielle Krakenberg. Ladies Night film selections are focused on the struggle, rise and triumph of empowered (and sometimes crazy) women. At Ladies Night we will view and analyze the complex dynamics, common tropes and stereotypes of women in genre films and how they’re depicted on the big screen. It's called Ladies Night, but people of all genders are welcome! ++++++++++ Proof of vaccination or proof of negative test within the past 48 hours will be required to enter Stray Cat Film Center. Please contact us with any questions. Updated Mask Policy: To follow current CDC recommendations and comply with the current mask mandate in Kansas City Missouri, masks will be mandatory at Stray Cat Film Center. For the safety of other patrons and our volunteers, please keep your mask on unless you are actively eating or drinking. Thank you for complying, let us know if you have any questions.
