Press release from the Village of Port Chester:
February 9, 2022 - 7:20pm
Please be advised that earlier today, Governor Kathy Hochul announced the end of the indoor mask mandate in New York State effective Thursday, February 10th- the mandate will continue, though, for New York City, homeless shelters, healthcare centers, state-run nursing homes, schools and childcare centers, and correctional facilities. Furthermore, the Governor expressed that mask mandates and practices will now be implemented, when believed necessary, by government entities and businesses across the state. In accordance with this directive, the Village of Port Chester will adopt the following guidance effective this Thursday, February 10th:
Vaccinated people who wish to enter village property without wearing a mask may do so. Unvaccinated people who wish to enter village property without a mask may do so. However, the village will continue to encourage unvaccinated visitors and vendors to wear a mask when navigating our offices and common spaces out of an abundance of caution for those who work and visit our properties. Vaccination status will not be checked upon entry to village property, although the Village of Port Chester will remain supportive of COVID-19 vaccines and the importance of getting vaccinated to protect oneself and others. Contact tracing and temperature checks will continue to be administered until further notice. This press release was produced by the Village of Port Chester.
