There will be the option of testing and certification for this class if the students are interested. This Workshop will cover the following and more: - Extraction Theory - Drink Building - Cupping - Coffee Sampling - Hands-on Pour Over Training - Watch & Learn Roasting Basics - Class Discussions and Taste Theory - Latte Art 101 - Espresso Extraction - How to Store Coffee - Batch Brewing - Milk Science and Proper Steaming Techniques - Grind Size and Why it Matters - Water Quality - Multiple Brewing Methods - Sensory Experience - Brew Bar Workload Management   Education creates empowerment. When we are encouraged to learn, positive growth is the result. At the Ferris Coffee Lab, we aim to share our passion, knowledge, and expertise in order to equip our employees, our customers, and the general public with the skills and tools needed to better understand the specialty coffee industry, and ultimately, to make better coffee. It's here in these facilities that we offer hands-on training in a variety of classes and workshops. This investment in the specialty coffee community pays back two-fold: we build stronger relationships with our customers and they represent Ferris with the quality and integrity that we strive for every day.  Our Coffee Lab was built in 2018 and is connected to our production facility which hosts our roastery, nitro canning line, and packaging machines. The sensory-controlled room can accommodate groups both small and large comfortably and is built for educational classes, hosting coffee industry competitions, public workshops and wholesale customer tastings.
