I found Possum and his brother, Squirrel, wild, scared and abandoned. They were in the middle of the road around a curve and the local homeowners said all of the adult cats had been taken to animal control. They were estimated to be around 4 weeks old at that time. They were very wild. Over the course of about 4 months, I have handled them and made them into very friendly, more sociable young kitties. My kids, aged, 1, 3 & 6 all handle them. They do well around my dog, although they still keep their distance. And they love my male cat. I would like to keep them together and do have intentions of getting them fixed and getting their rabies shots, when they get fixed. I am trying to get them an appointment. They rehoming fee is $50 for the pair to ensure they are going to a good home and will not be used as bait animals. IF they have not been fixed by the time you adopt them, get them fixed within 30 days and I will return the $50.00 adoption fee to you. They will only go to an INSIDE ONLY home. They are both kid friendly as I have a 1 year old, a 3 year old and a 6 year old. They are cat friendly as well as dog friendly, but dog aware. Meaning they will keep their distance, but are comfortable with a dog in the home. Possum is much more open and playful when he is around his brother, Squirrel. Squirrel is very affectionate. While I am looking for their forever home, I understand that sometimes life doesn't go as planned. I absolutely do not want them going to an animal shelter in the future. For this reason, if you ever find yourself in a position where you have to rehome them, I am willing to take them back. Just hold onto my email and cell phone information. It doesn't matter if it's a year down the road or 5 years down the road, please do not hesitate to call me. I am willing to deliver them to surrounding areas, for the right home.
