Join us on Forbidden Drive at Northwestern Ave (across from the Cedars House Café) for our annual Maple Sugar Day. There will be ongoing maple sugaring demonstrations, pancakes with real maple syrup, a taste test of different syrups, and freshly made maple candy to taste. All ages. NO registration necessary. Just stop by 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Outdoors. All Weather. FREE. The Cedars House Café will be open with maple inspired specials. Note: Pennsylvania Maple Syrup products will be limited. No syrup for sale this year. (Cash only). This program is ON Forbidden Drive, at Northwestern Ave, across from the Cedars House Café. Please park in Parking Lot 3, by Northwestern Stables. GPS 100 W. Please have a mask with you, and wear it when close to our staff and other visitors. [Photo by: Christina Moresi] The Wissahickon Environmental Center provides environmental education to adults, children, and families, throughout Philadelphia and vicinity, through public and school and group programming. As part of Philadelphia Parks and Recreation, we also "advance the prosperity of our city and the progress of her people through intentional and sustained stewardship of public land and waterways as well as through safe, stimulating recreation, environmental and cultural centers. We help Philadelphia and its citizens grow by connecting people to the natural world, to each other, and to fun, physical and social opportunities." Summer camp registration for 2022 opens February 6 at 9 a.m. We anticipate registration for summer 2023 to open February 2023. Covid-19 protocols and precautions include, but are not limited to: Tree House and bathrooms are closed to public, reduced group sizes, masks, temperature checks, and distancing for all, programs are outdoors/all weather, registration forms must be complete to join any programing, sanitizer available, touched surfaces sanitized, and more as we comply to additional best practices.
