Here are the top 3 stories today in Buffalo: A 36-year-old man from North Tonawanda was rescued on Wednesday night after falling through the ice while attempting to cut across the Erie Canal. Police say a nearby witness heard someone shouting for help around 10:30 p.m. and called police, who used a rescue loop to pull the man from the water and onto a rescue sled. The man was treated for hypothermic conditions and taken to the Erie County Medical Center. (WIVB.com - News 4)A 16-year-old boy was severely injured after being stabbed in a fight downtown on Wednesday afternoon. Authorities say the incident occurred around 4 p.m. in the area of Delaware Avenue and Niagara Square. The victim was taken to Oishei Children's Hospital.
