NORWALK, CT — A Shelton man accused of robbing a Norwalk bank in November was charged with robbery this week, according to police.
In a news release, Police Sgt. Sofia Gulino said officers responded to Stamford Superior Court on Wednesday to serve detainee Michael Tallo, 37, of Shelton, with a habeus warrant for charges relating to the robbery.
On Nov. 7, police received a report around noon that a TD Bank on Westport Avenue had been robbed and the suspect had fled on foot, Gulino said.
Officers were told a man wearing a hat and shorts handed a note to a teller indicating he had a weapon. No weapon was displayed during the robbery, Gulino said.
After examining evidence and speaking with witnesses, detectives developed information that lead them to Tallo, Gulino said.
Tallo was charged with first-degree robbery and fifth-degree larceny. His bond was set at $100,000.
