Press release from the Capital Region Chamber: February 9, 2022 The scholarships described below are awarded based on a competitive application process. Please share this information with students, parents, or anyone you think could benefit from these scholarships. Please note, the links below will take you to The Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region's website where you will fill out the scholarship application. Capital Region Chamber Scholarships Deadline: March 6 at midnight Capital Region Chamber Continuing Education Scholarship – One award of $2,000 for a non-traditional age student beginning or returning to college or pursuing a trade certification. Applicant must be a resident of one of the following counties: Albany, Rensselaer, Saratoga, or Schenectady and must demonstrate financial need. Click here to begin. Schenectady Chamber Scholarship – One award of $2,000 to a graduating senior of a Schenectady County High School with a GPA between 80%-89%. Please note: if your GPA exceeds 89%, your application will not be considered for this award. Click here to begin. Capital Region Chamber Chuck Steiner Memorial Scholarship – One award of $2,000 to a graduating senior of a high school in the following counties: Albany, Rensselaer, Saratoga or Schenectady, that demonstrates diverse interests and local community service. There are no academic requirements for this award. Click here to begin. Capital Region Chamber Unified Military Affairs Council Scholarship (2 awards of $2,000 each available): For students whose parent(s) serve at one of the following military installations: Stratton Air National Guard Base; Navy Operational Support Center Glenville; Naval Support Activity Saratoga; Nuclear Power Training Unit Ballston Spa; Watervliet Arsenal; or Joint Force Headquarters Latham. Applicants must be entering a technical/trade school or a two or four year college or university in the Fall. Click here to begin.
