ORLAND PARK, IL — Police arrested a 38-year-old man who was found with a loaded gun in his waistband during a traffic stop Monday night. According to officials, officers stopped a car heading northbound near the 16900 block of LaGrange Road Monday at around 10 p.m. During the stop, police said they saw a handgun in Daniel Brown's waistband and ordered him out of the car to secure it and arrest him. Police did not immediately respond to questions on what traffic violation Brown was accused of that caused him to be pulled over. Orland Park Police Chief Joe Mitchell said Brown had "extensive criminal arrest records from [Orland Park's] streets." Brown was charged with being in possession of a weapon as a habitual criminal and one other traffic citation. The felony charge carries a mandatory minimum of six years in federal prison. Brown is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 24 after posting $10,000 for a D Bond Tuesday.
