LAKEWOOD, OH — Kyle Baker was sworn-in as the new Lakewood City Council representative for Ward 1 on Monday night. In the coming weeks, he plans to meet his constituents and address their concerns. Baker replaces Tess Neff who vacated her seat after being elected Lakewood Municipal Judge. During the Monday City Council meeting, Baker was officially sworn into his new position. "I grew up in Ward 1, and am proud to be raising my family here today. Over my many years here, I have become familiar with the variety of the issues and opportunities that are unique to Ward 1," Baker told Patch. He noted he will keep an eye on the following Ward 1 projects: the Fire Station No. 2 ribbon cutting, the Trinity Church redevelopment, the upkeep of the Hilliard Road bridge, and improving connections between Lakewood and the Metroparks and Rocky River. Baker also said he will be responsive to resident concerns. Constituents can reach him at [email protected] or by calling Lakewood City Council at 216-529-6055. "I want my neighbors to know that I will work hard to make sure we maintain a strong, healthy, welcoming and safe community, and I am always available to discuss any questions, concerns and ideas that arise. I look forward to meeting more residents over the coming weeks and months," Baker told Patch. In 2021, Baker ran for an at-large city council seat. During the campaign, he shared details on his background and aspirations in a candidate profile on Patch.
