UPDATE: The child has died, according to state troopers. ORIGINAL: BURKE COUNTY, NC — A 7-year-old child was hit by a car and flown to a Charlotte hospital, according to North Carolina state troopers. The incident happened in Burke County near a school bus stop. Initially, the child was taken to Morganton Hospital but then flown to Charlotte in critical condition, according to Charlotte news affiliate WSOC. Troopers told WSOC the child "darted" in front of the car at a bus stop. More updates will be provided as they become available.
