Press release from the City of Albany: 02/09/2022 5:00 PM The following provides a summary of actions taken by the City Council as part of the special & regular meetings on February 7, 2022:  Closed Session Report: There were no reportable actions. Ceremonial Matters: The Council presented a proclamation in recognition of the Black History Month  Quarterly Financial Update: The Council received an informational quarterly financial report for the second quarter of Fiscal Year 2021-22 (October 1 - December 31, 2021). Ordinance No. 2022-01: The Council waived reading and approved the first reading of Ordinance No. 2022-01 adding Section 8-22 entitled "Safe Storage of Firearms" to Albany Municipal Code. The Ordinance will return to Council at next meeting for second reading and final adoption. American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) of 2021 Funding: The Council approved to allocate $1,000,000 in ARPA funds for a Temporary COVID Small Business Assistance Grant Program. Contact the City for more information. Moratorium on Construction and Expansion of Factory Farms and Slaughterhouses in California: The Council directed Councilmembers to prepare a letter to express support for the Farm System Reform Act.
