AGOURA HILLS, CA — The Agoura Hills city council on Wednesday thanked volunteers who devoted their time to the city in 2021 with a presentation and a special 40th anniversary gift. After hosting a virtual meet-and-greet with volunteers, city council gave a presentation listing the city's volunteers, organized by group or committee, at Wednesday's council meeting. "Whether you served on a committee, volunteered at an event, or worked in the library to hep get books out to people, your involvement was truly impressive and valued. Each volunteer offers their own unique skills in a variety of groups and committees," Mayor Deborah Klein Lopez said. Volunteer can pick up an umbrella with the city's 40th anniversary logo from the Recreation and Events Center starting Feb. 21 as a thank you for their work, Lopez said. "It's people like you that make the city of Agoura Hills a great place to live," Lopez said. 17 volunteer groups were recognized in the presentation, including the CERT disaster response team, community concert band board, cultural arts council, teen planning advisory committee and more. "I love volunteering because I feel like it actually makes a difference in our community and keeps Agoura such a beautiful and wonderful place to be," said Jeremy Wolf, who is on the city's community service committee. Watch the full presentation and the rest of Wednesday's city council meeting on the city's website.
