Description

We are a luxury outdoor tour company seeking experienced and personable guides to join our small team, serving day trips in Moab, UT, and expeditions throughout the state. Please send a brief note about your interest, experience, and fit, and we will get right back to you. We focus on high end clientele who are well traveled and expect a really nice experience, and pride ourselves on exceeding those already high expectations. You are trained and supported to deliver on that goal, although customer service or luxury clientele experience is a plus. Along those lines we have some of the best vehicles, equipment, snacks, meals etc, adding value for your group, and typically boosting tips. Between our focus on the target market, the quality of our guides, and the great experience this all creates, tips avg $75+, not uncommonly $200+ as well/day tips alone on even a half day tour. Typical shift for a half day tour with side work (all paid by hour) is 6.5 hours. Full day tours about 9.5 hrs. Expedition days have a large bonus, because you are traveling across Utah and the surrounding areas. Most work is in Moab (day trips to parks) however we have lots of expeditions in the Spring and Fall that you will be a part of. On those, we sometimes arrange flights, hotels, all meals etc for the client, and while it is certainly some challenging long days, it is a super gratifying and interesting diverse challenge. Top desired qualities are ability to foresee and avoid safety issues, high customer service, resourcefulness, positivity, tact, and of course outdoor experience, or relevant certifications such as WFR. The more knowledge of Utah, Utah's parks and public lands the better. Flora, fauna, geology, anthropology (just some idea, not a scientist with degree, unless you are!) Even highly experienced folks will learn and grow with us. We have a creative pay and schedule structure that rewards good work and lends itself to sustainability. We tell our clients and guests (not customers) that all our guides love what they do, so that should be the case as it is with all of us here. While we would prefer full time, full season (March-October, with seasonal unemployment over Winter), we would consider part season hires, if high experience means as much training isn't needed. Additional opportunity includes management and year round work for the right person, or even remote sales work. We can assist the right candidates with relocation and/or lodging assistance.
