Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions Summary The Facilities and Transportation Specialist (FTS) will be expected to have hands-on responsibility for the maintenance, performance, modification and economical operation of all facility equipment, the infrastructure of the department, and the fleet. The FTS will monitor infrastructure systems, plan and conduct maintenance, modifications and repairs, secure vendors, request quotes and implement schedules. Working knowledge of facility subsystems is required such as HVAC, electrical distribution, cooling systems, compressed air and gas distribution. This position will report to the Facilities and Transportation Director (FTD) and will operate with minimal supervision. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned Manages building operations and maintenance, plans and operations, furniture and equipment inventories, utility operations, energy management, and grounds maintenance. Oversees major infrastructure repair and renovations projects by identifying and managing vendors/contractors, including bid process, contract compliance, and vendor/contractor performance. Responsible for the safe maintenance, repair or replacement of plant equipment and systems, to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the company. Works closely with FTD to ensure the facility follows National, State, local building/ mechanical/ electrical codes; safety codes, OSHA regulations; fire codes; Etc. Assists in the initiation, implementation and management of the plant maintenance program based on best practices in manufacturing, with an emphasis on planning/scheduling of preventative/predictive maintenance. Monitors the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies and equipment. Initiates reordering when necessary. Assists in the ongoing review of the operation of plant equipment and systems to minimize unplanned downtime, proactively solve problems in a timely manner and identify opportunities for improvement. Initiates and carries out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs. Coordinates with Operations and Quality Assurance Departments on maintenance, repair work in process areas and plans/implements facility improvements to support business objectives. Develops and implements procedures and practices to maintain clean, orderly, productive, and safe work areas for multiple development activities. Directs the daily assignment of work to ensure safe and efficient plant operations Education and/or Experience GED or High School Diploma. Preferred experience in Facility Maintenance and Transportation
