Looking for two cats/kittens

We are new home owners looking to adopt two cats/kittens in addition to our family. We have a 6 bedroom home with plenty of space. I have reached out to a couple of these ads with strange numbers (not located in maryland) that seem to want a "re-homing fee" which we are okay with. However some post are odd because they want a deposit before you even get to see or meet the cat which draws a red flag as a scam. We are serious about providing a loving/nurturing home to one or two cats. We have food, play toys, scratching post, litter boxes, cat nip etc. Home is occupied by 3 children and no other pets.
