Description
Retired old guy who plays Fender bass would like to meet some soloists who can create endless melodies over my rock, soul, atonal, free form grooves. Sounds impossible but I think it can be done. Thinking the usual instrumentation (keys, guitar, vocal, bongo's) but also looking for some "exotic" sounds like bassoon, piccolo flute, soprano sax, etc. Of course we need a place to play but we can meet up and discuss the concept at Record Archive. This could be a flexible rotating arrangement. I'm not sure what to expect so respond thru CL if any of this sounds of interest. I looked it up and bingo, just what I was thinking. Quoting Merriam-Webster, Improvisational = "ad hoc, ad-lib, down and dirty, extemporaneous, extemporary, extempore, impromptu, improvised, off-the-cuff, offhand, offhanded, snap, spur-of-the-moment, unconsidered, unplanned, unpremeditated, unprepared, unrehearsed, unstudied." Sounds like my life! PS... I don't read musical notation but I can read charts. I never heard of most of these people but I listen to 90.1 sometimes.
