We have to call our representatives and tell them we don’t support it. I’m a landlord and until 2 years ago it was not much of a problem but now I get a dozen calls and 20 plus emails the first day. And to be fair and legal, anybody that wants to submit an application has to pay the background check fee, even if I already 5 applications. It’s a $35 lottery ticket, hoping to win and get a place to live. ( others charge $40 to $60 for a credit/background check, that they might not even do because they have already chosen their next tenant.)
