Press release from Syosset School District:
June 26, 2020
On June 15, H.B. Thompson and South Woods Middle School eighth grade students officially became Syosset High School students. During moving up events unlike any other held in years past, students received their certificates and bid farewell to the middle schools.
In events planned with a focus on safety during the COVID-19 pandemic, students and families celebrated the culmination of three years spent at the middle school level and looked with excitement towards their future at Syosset High School.
Cars lined up in front of the schools, many decorated with balloons, graduation banners and congratulatory hand-written messages. Building administrators greeted students and presented them with certificates and awards. Faculty and staff lined the parking lots to applaud, congratulate and bid farewell to their beloved students. Celebratory music played and a joyous atmosphere was enjoyed by all during the events that will surely be remembered for a lifetime.
