Description
AZUSA, CA — A brush fire triggered when a vehicle went off the side of the Highway 39 in the Angeles National Forest overnight is now 50 percent contained.
The crash happened at about 12:30 a.m., and it sparked a brush fire that charred about six acres north of Azusa. The blaze spread near the Crystal Lake campground. Two people were injured in the crash and had to be raced to the hospital in unknown condition, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Water-dropping helicopters helped firefighters on the ground to get a handle on the blaze.
No evacuations were immediately ordered.
