Looking to fill one or more positions for warehouse shipper/receiver. Hours and days are flexible. Pay range is $14-$17 depending on experience. Job Summary This position is responsible for verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Compares identifying information and counts of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against orders, or other records. Determines method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates. Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons. Assembles cardboard containers or selects pre-assembled containers. Inserts items into containers, using spacers, fillers, and protective padding. Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage where necessary. Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications. Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies. May operate tier-lift truck or use handtruck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping-and-receiving platform to storage or work area. May direct others in preparing outgoing and receiving incoming shipments. May perform only shipping or receiving activities and be known as Shipping Clerk (clerical) or Receiving Clerk (clerical). May be designated according to specialty as Freight Clerk (clerical); Reshipping Clerk (clerical). May receive damaged or defective goods returned to establishment and be designated Returned-Goods Receiving Clerk (clerical). May receive unsold returned products. Experience / Education Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required 1 year experience in general manufacturing or warehouse operation preferred Other individuals with similar experience. Willing to train the someone with similar experience with the right attitude. Must be able to work on a fast-paced production line Must have high school math skills Must be able to speak and read English Must be able to follow written and verbal work instructions Must have good communication skills Please send resumé to [email protected]
