Volunteer with Columbus Gives Back and Buddy Up for Life as a conversational partner for their "Communication for Life" Class Buddy Up for Life is looking for volunteers to help practice general conversation and social skills with our students with Down syndrome. Throughout the class, volunteers will engage in natural conversation with our students through hands on games and activities led by a speech language pathologist. Where: 8000 Walton Parkway Suite 208 New Albany, OH 43054 Accessibility: This location and tasks are suitable for volunteers with alternative accessibility requirements. When: Thursday, February 24th 5:15pm - 7:00pm Event Leader(s): [email protected] COVID-19 Precautions: Columbus Gives Back is following all recommended social / hygiene protocols. Masks are no longer required for outdoor events but please bring one to the event in case our nonprofit partners require them. Masks and social distancing are still required for all indoor events. About Buddy Up for Life: Buddy Up for Life exists to serve individuals with Down syndrome by providing a fun, active, and supportive environment for our Athletes to grow both physically and personally by engaging in activities that impact athletic, social, and emotional development. About Columbus Gives Back: We love Columbus, young professionals, and getting involved! Our mission is to connect young professionals across central Ohio and engage them in our communities through 35-40 social volunteer and philanthropic opportunities per month. #SocialTwist: We have begun re-introducing social twists, where we invite volunteers to hang out with us after an event to have fun doing something local! As of May 1st, outdoor/patio social twists will be coordinated at the discretion of event leaders and volunteers.
