COST TO MEMBERS $15; NON-MEMBERS $25 COVID PROTOCALS MUST BE FOLLOWED. PROPER MASKS ARE MANDATORY. TOTAL CLUB OCCUPANCY IS LIMITED. ALL GUESTS MUST BE PRE-APPROVED BY THE INSTRUCTOR. The test centers will run in the following order - CGC then CGCA. You will be contacted with your specific appointment time. The AKC's Canine Good Citizen program is recognized as the gold standard for dog behavior. In CGC, dogs who pass the 10 step CGC test can earn a certificate and/or the official AKC CGC title. Dogs with the CGC title have the suffix, "CGC" after their names. The Canine Good Citizen Program lays the foundation for other AKC activities such as obedience, agility, tracking, and performance events. As you work with your dog to teach the CGC skills, you'll discover the many benefits and joys of training your dog. Training will enhance the bond between you and your dog. Dogs who have a solid obedience education are a joy to live with-they respond well to household routines, have good manners in the presence of people and other dogs, and they fully enjoy the company of the owner who took the time to provide training, intellectual stimulation, and a high quality life. We sincerely hope that CGC will be only a beginning for you and your dog and that after passing the CGC test, you'll continue training in obedience, agility, tracking, or performance events. DTCDC is an all volunteer, not-for-profit club that was organized in 1974. Our mission is to promote training programs that will develop obedient and happy dogs which will be a source of pleasure and pride to their families and good canine citizens in their community. We promote responsible dog ownership through obedience and other dog related activities. Classes for the public include: Puppy, Beginner, Advanced Beginner, Intermediate, Novice, Beginner Open, Utility, Novice Rally, Advanced Rally, Conformation, Nosework, and Utility.
