Join us for the opening of REDU's premier furniture showroom and interactive studio. REDU, the Brooklyn based sustainable furniture and design company, is excited to announce the opening of its interactive showroom. The 2,000-square foot space is activated by REDU’s show “Re-B(earth): The Near Death Experience of Trash”. Inspired by REDU founder Amber Lasciak's profound connection to the phenomena of the ‘near death experience’. She likens the ‘NDE’ survivor stories as a parallel to the journey of discarded materials that REDU rescues from landfill, imbued with a new life. Through the personification of dry-waste materials, REDU challenges guests to see ‘trash’ through this transformative new lens. REDU rescues discarded construction materials from local manufacturers and builders before they go to New York City’s (at capacity) landfills. They reimagine and hand-craft them into unique furniture pieces of utility and style. Redu is a minority woman-owned company based in Red Hook, Brooklyn creating a solution for the global economic crisis by maximizing their local supply chain.
