Description

WOODBURY, NY — Workers at a used car dealership in Woodbury quickly knocked down flames that broke out due to an electrical fire Thursday. The Syosset Volunteer Fire Department was called to Dream Car Gallery on Jericho Turnpike around 12:30 p.m. Thursday, officials said. Firefighters found the service to the building was ablaze outside the building, and the electrical box in the basement was also on fire. Employees knocked down the flames with fire extinguishers, officials said. Crews stretched a precautionary hose line to the front door and checked that flames didn't spread into the building. The Plainview, Jericho and Bethpage volunteer fire departments were also called, but were canceled en route. The utility company was notified of the blaze. No one was hurt.
