Description

Pianist Valery Kuleshov joins the Germantown Symphony Orchestra for a superb performance celebrating the wonder of Beethoven. A concert originally planned for March, 2020, the Germantown Symphony Orchestra and sponsor Dr. Christopher Knott-Craig are pleased to finally present a concert marking Beethoven's 250th birthday showcasing the Russian virtuoso of the Romantic piano, Valery Kuleshov. Dr. Knott-Craig's sponsorship is in memory of Mac Armour. Can you imagine a world of classical music without Beethoven? Thankfully, we don't have to. Treat yourself to an evening filled with the glorious music of Beethoven's Egmont OverturePiano Concerto No. 1 in C major Symphony No. 5 in C minor Valery Kuleshov’s performance is based on the best Russian piano traditions, with emotional sincerity, rich colors, brilliant virtuosity, profound understanding of composers’ styles and fresh interpretations. His playing has been compared to the style of Vladimir Horowitz with vast dynamic contrasts, consisting of tremendous double-fortissimos followed by sudden delicate pianissimos. “A concert or recital by Valery Kuleshov is not just a performance, it is an experience for the heart, soul, and senses. It is for his sensitive interpretations, virtuosic technique, glittering bravura, and passion for the music that he has been named the ’Russian Virtuoso of the Romantic Piano’.” Christopher Knott-Craig. MD is the major sponsor for this concert.
