JOB SUMMARY Works within established procedures with low to moderate supervision to maintain the UUCB campus and grounds. Duties include regularly cleaning all parts of the building, assisting with semi-skilled repairs, setting up furniture and equipment for events and meetings, and performing landscaping and gardening activities to maintain the health of beauty of our 9-acre campus. May be responsible for opening and closing the building for functions and assuring the security of people and assets. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Maintains the cleanliness of buildings and grounds according to established procedures, including: o Cleaning cement, cork, linoleum, tile, and other floors o Shampooing rugs and carpets, waxing floors o Changing air filters and cleaning vents o Dusting/washing all surfaces & windows, including some up to 20 feet high o Maintaining a thorough inventory, ordering new supplies as needed o Using equipment, commercial vacuums, floor buffers and carpet cleaners o Collecting and taking out trash and recycling o Cleaning kitchens, bathrooms, and common areas • Event set-up o Interpret room drawings to accurately set up tables, chairs and other furniture as requested o Setup and test audio/visual and computer equipment, troubleshooting as necessary o Some evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required • Gardening and landscaping o Ensure proper functioning of timed irrigation systems, hand-watering where necessary o Pruning and weeding, general plant and garden maintenance o Mowing playground and flat areas; utilizing string trimmer on hillsides/near fences o Occasional chainsaw work and maintenance of large trees
