Custodian/Facilities Assistant Day Shift, Schedule TBD Wage range starts at $18.50/hour, DOE Pacific Research Laboratories is the leader in manufacturing medical models for orthopedic and medical education. Our facility is located on Vashon Island in the Puget Sound, just a short ferry ride away from West Seattle, Tacoma, or Port Orchard. SUMMARY: Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and pleasant working environment campus wide. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: Cleans and disinfects all furniture, fixtures, and equipment according to procedure. Empties/relines wastebaskets and recycle containers. Loads dump truck to maximize capacity; monitors serviceability of conveyor and reports operational issues. Collects and transports appropriate materials for recycling. Unclogs toilets, urinals and sinks according to sanitary procedures; reports plumbing issues. Responds to spills and contains, cleans, and disinfects, as required; monitors clearance and cleanliness of eye wash/first aid stations. Performs sanitation of work areas when needed, including floor mopping and disinfecting according to procedure; restocks cleaning and sanitations supplies. Performs cleaning and related activities in areas within a reasonable distance outside of the facility using hand-operated tools to remove snow or debris, and sweep sidewalks or stairs; picks up litter; cleans picnic tables; cleans outdoor ashtrays; pest control Follows written and/or verbal instructions regarding the use of chemicals, personal protective apparel, supplies, and equipment. Complies with safety policies and procedures and emergency and disaster procedures. Sets up, moves, and takes down equipment and furniture and transports items to be repaired, as required; hang and maintain signage, as required. Maintains orderly common areas and clear interior and exterior walkways. Maintains cleanliness of vehicles; refills gas, oil and air as needed; reports needed maintenance.
