Join us for the celebration of joy, and Black History Month! Together we will appreciate Blackness through music, poetry, and the arts. Black Joy: Presented by Minnesota Teen Activists at The Capri Theatre Date: Friday, February 18th, 2022 Time: Doors open at 6:30, show begins at 7:00-9:00 We ask that you join us in an evening of stories, music, and dance celebrating the mosaic of Blackness. In wake of recent murders of black men, the community is facing so much pain. Black Joy presented by MN Teen Activists will be a time to heal, and erupt your blackness. Together we will reflects on history, examine today, and look forward to the essence of uplifting and joyous traditions in Black art. This program contains Spirituals, Jazz, R&B, Poetry and more! Our special guests are: Peter Collins (guitarist), Darnell Davis & Remnant (vocal group), L.A. Buckner & Big Homie (ensemble), and Maya Marchelle (emcee, vocalist, lyricalist) Host: Bobby Joe Champion COVID Guidelines: We’ll continue to monitor and follow the latest guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Minnesota Department of Health, as well as local requirements from the City of Minneapolis, and Minneapolis Public Schools. Vaccination Policy The Capri requires all guests to present proof of either full COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result taken within 72 hours prior to attending an event, along with a photo ID. This policy was adopted in light of the highly transmissible Delta and Omicron variants and increasing case numbers in Minnesota. Being fully vaccinated means completing your final dose of a COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days before the Capri event date. Proof of vaccination or a negative test result must be shown upon entrance. Accepted proof of vaccination includes your vaccination card, either the physical card or a digital photo of the card, or a printed or digital image of your vaccination record from your healthcare provider. The documentation must include your full name, the type of vaccination received and the date each shot was administered. Accepted proof of a negative test result includes a printed or digital copy of your test results showing your full name, the date the test was administered and the negative result. The name on your vaccination documentation or test result must match the name on your photo ID.
