The Florida Citrus Production School is a program which provides growers with information on citrus production practices. The Florida Citrus Production School will be offered in three separate sessions in February. This page is to register for Session 3 only. Please register for Session 1 by clicking here Please register for Session 2 by clicking here Session 3 - February 24, 2021: Details About the Produce Safety Rule, Including Water Quality Requirements Time: 7pm-9pm Location: Turner Agri-Civic Center, Exhibit Hall, 2260 NE Roan St., Arcadia FL, 34266 Taylor O'Bannon is a State Specialized Extension Agent in Food Safety at the UF/IFAS Citrus Research and Education Center in Lake Alfred. She will be discussing the Produce Safety Rule and how this applies to citrus being grown for juice and the fresh market. This discussion will include new requirements for water quality testing and treatments for fresh fruit. Citrus growers that sell any portion of their fruit for the fresh market are included under the Produce Safety Rule. Ajia Paolillo is a UF/IFAS Extension, Multi-County Citrus Agent. She will be discussing nitrogen and phosphorus recordkeeping requirements and the use of soil and leaf samples to guide nutrient application decisions. Continuing Education Units Provided - There will be a maximum of 2 CEUs provided with this session for restricted use pesticide license holders in the following categories: Ag Tree, Ag Row, and Private.
