I am looking for one child or possibly siblings to care for in my home. I am a former preschool teacher. I have two daughters of my own. They are 4 years old and 11 months old. I will be at home with my daughters until they are both school age. I hope to open a fully operational licensed facility out of my my home in a few years. For the time being, while my youngest is still a baby, I am just looking for one other family to provide care to. I am CPR/First Aid/Bloodborne Pathogens certified. I have a valid WA state food handlers permit. I also have my 30 hours STARS training and all current vaccinations including COVID-19. I do keep up with state requirements of 10 hours of teacher in-service training per year. I also have an Associates degree in pre-nursing studies for which I was required to complete extensive coursework in psychology including lifespan and developmental psychology. I also completed significant studies in nutrition and growth. I will be maintaining a flexible "schedule" for children in my care. I have often seen children flourish intellectually and behaviorally from simply knowing what to expect next in the day. I will be including a rest period of 1.5 hours (more or less depending on ages) some type of art every day, reading before rest time, afternoon reading, outside play for at least an hour. I believe screen time is best reserved for the evening at the parents discretion. We will not have any type of screen time in the day but we do love to listen to music and dance! I will provide all food and snacks if preferred. We maintain healthy eating habits in my home and I love to get kids involved in the process of making their food, including planting and harvesting our own garden. We also love to make bread and LOTS of play-doh! We are fortunate enough to have two living rooms in our home, so one of them is fully dedicated as a children's space. We also have a very large backyard which I am hoping to furnish with a playhouse this summer. We are located in Lacey, just down the street from Lakes Elementary. I will be charging 200$ a week per child with a small discount if your family has siblings that need care. I am looking for the right fit. I look forward to hearing from you.
