NAPLES, FL — A drunk man claiming to be Mick Jagger faces multiple charges after getting kicked out of two Naples restaurants and trying to start fights with customers Monday night, according to Naples police records. Eugene Bingham, 59, of Naples was charged with battery of a law enforcement officer, a felony, and disorderly intoxication, a misdemeanor. Officers were called to Ocean Prime, a seafood restaurant at 699 5th Ave. S., around 9:15 p.m. because a man, who was later identified as Bingham, was being "a nuisance" and refusing to leave. Witnesses told police that Bingham drunkenly yelled at people, claiming to be Mick Jagger, and tried to pick fights with others at the restaurant, police records show. When police found him walking outside Ocean Prime, heading toward the Cambier Park Bathroom, he refused to stop to speak with the officers, walking directly into one of them. The officer "had to brace his body, so he did not fall to the ground," according to police records. "Bingham was in a drunk, unstable state, so after he charged into (the officer) he fell slowly onto the sidewalk, landing on his butt." Bingham also reportedly told the officer that he could "mess him up" and "take him down." While crawling around the ground, he started tugging on the officer's leg. When the officers took him into custody, he vomited in the back of their patrol car on the way to the Naples Jail Center. While they were on the scene, the manager of Yabba's Island Grill, located nearby on 5th Ave. S., also told police that Bingham had been kicked out of their restaurant three times earlier in the evening and had even jumped on the stage during a live music performance.
