Description
University California Davis, department of Nutrition is looking for adult volunteers (18-40 years) in good health to enroll in a research study to help better understand the effect of berries consumption on certain changes in the body that happen after eating a high-fat meal.
To participate in this research study, you must be willing to come in for 5 study days (2 visits that may last ~1 hour; and 3 visits that may last ~6 hours). The study duration is about 10-14 weeks. Volunteers who qualify will need to eat certain meals and provide blood samples. Study visits will be held at the Ragle Human Nutrition Research Center, Academic Surge, UC Davis main campus.
To qualify for this study you must be:
18-40 years of age (male or female)
In general good health
Weighing more than 110 pounds (and a BMI between 21 to 29.9 kg/m2)
Having no known allergies to bilberries, black currants, or rice
Not taking any medications, and are willing to stop all supplement use prior to and throughout the study period
Volunteers will be compensated
