Description

Join Miami Light Project for a dance workshop with choreographer Liony Garcia before the premiere of his latest work, "Corporeal Decorum." Body as Ornament Workshop Led by Liony Garcia This workshop will use historical architectural images from Miami Beach’s Deco District as references for creating movement. The participants will have the opportunity to part-take in exercises that the choreographer has developed throughout the creation of his latest work, Corporeal Decorum. Using the information gathered from the images, participants will be given time to explore ways in which they can translate decorative architectural features into movement segments. The participants will present their explorations to the group and give each other constructive feedback. No prior dance experience is needed! Dress comfortably in clothing you can dance in.
