Press release from the Waterford Public Library: February 9, 2022 Join us on Wednesday, February 16 at 6:30pm for an in-person panel discussion about Dominion Energy's Millstone nuclear power plant. Panelists are Claude Flory, Adjunct Professor, Nuclear Education at Three Rivers Community College; Abby Piersall, Waterford's Director of Economic Development & Planning; Dean Rowe, Manager of Nuclear Emergency Preparedness, Dominion Energy; and Steve Sinagra, Waterford's Director of Emergency Management. The session will be facilitated by Waterford residents, Christine Hammond and Laurie Wolfley, in partnership with library director, Chris Johnson. The panel will respond to a series of questions from the facilitators in regards to safety, economic, and practical concerns of living in close proximity to the Millstone nuclear power plant. Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions of the panelists during the final half hour (7:30-8:00 pm) Register to attend in person or follow the conversation on Zoom. This series is supported with a Libraries Transforming Communities: Focus on Small and Rural Libraries grant, an initiative of the American Library Association (ALA) in collaboration with the Association for Rural & Small Libraries (ARSL).
