How's my parking? NCC Arcata

Meets

Arcata CA

Description

You: Had just parked a black 2500 HD in the Arcata food coop parking lot. Me: Parked adjacent to you as you climbed down from the truck. You: Displaying all cuteness and style, look to me and ask "How did I do?" (assessing your own parking job) Me: With unfortunate timing, was on a phone call and could only gesture through my windshields glass that I had not made an assessment, nor did I particularly care to. You: Walked on with a satisfyingly confident expression, across the street and into bittersweet. Me: Could not help but form my assessment after a glimpse of the scene. It was too late to respond to your request for my opinion, but since Thursday afternoon last week the issue has stuck in my mind and I'm taking the time now to share my thoughts widely. Primarily, you had undercut the line when you parked and so were actually spilling into 'my' parking spot, but I get it, I've never considered rules and borders such as these to deserve any undue concern. But, you had chosen (by chance?) one of the very few spots with an adjacent pedestrian section which was basically designed for oversized vehicle spillover (which was even demonstrated perfectly by the truck parked in the very next space over). Secondarily, and again not to advocate for rules, but, you must have missed the signs prohibiting parking for anyone other than NCC customers. So there is that to be aware of too. Finally, you were really adorable in the moments that you shared in passing. If you want, I'm willing to share my assessment with you face to face.
