NEW HAVEN, CT —Police identified the man killed in a Chapel Street car collision Monday as Manuel Rodrigues, 73, of Hamden, according to spokesperson Scott Shumway. The car Rodrigues was driving was involved in the crash just after noon at the intersection of Chapel Street and Central Avenue, the New Haven Police Department spokesperson said. Police found a Ford van and a Honda collided at the intersection with Rodrigues pronounced dead and the driver of the van, injured but listed in stable condition. Police didn't identify that driver. The New Haven Police Crash Team is leading the investigation. Police ask that any witnesses who have not yet spoken with investigators contact the New Haven Police Department Investigative Services Division at 203-946-6304.
