Here are the top three stories in Norfolk today: A pet was recovered on Tuesday following a house fire in Norfolk. Just after 2:22 p.m., crews responded to a residential fire in the 6100 block of Edison Avenue and recovered a pet from the home. The animal's current condition has not been released and the cause of the fire is still under investigation. (WAVY)Some Norfolk neighbors are helping those in need by keeping fridges stocked year-round with free food. The 757 Community Fridges project was kickstarted by organizers Mx and Indigo, after seeing the project take off in Richmond. Donations are always accepted to keep the pantries stocked, and volunteers are welcome to clean and look after the refrigerators. (WVEC)On Wednesday morning, a man was critically injured in a domestic-related shooting in Norfolk. At around 11:30 a.m., police were called to the Oakmont community in the 7500 block of N Military Highway near the intersection of East Little Creek Road for a reported shooting. The victim, an unidentified man, was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
