SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — A Coram man was arrested Tuesday in connection with impersonating a police officer, Suffolk police said. A woman told police that she driving on the Long Island Expressway Service Road in Ronkonkoma around 3 a.m. Jan. 22 when she was stopped by a man driving a small dark-colored vehicle equipped with a flashing light, police said. David Olivari, 37, while acting as a police officer, took the woman's cell phone and got her personal number before he gave her the phone back, police said. Olivari then contacted the woman and requested that she send him nude photographs of herself, police said. A second woman made a similar complaint after she was victimized while driving on Shenandoah Boulevard in Nesconset around 11:35 p.m. Jan. 23, police said. Olivari was arrested following an investigation, as he tried to meet up with one of the women on Veterans Memorial Highway in Commack at 7:40 p.m. Tuesday, police said. Olivari was driving a gray 2007 Toyota Prius with a dashboard-mounted flashing light, police said. The Toyota is believed to be the same one used in the other incidents, police said. Olivari was charged with first-degree criminal impersonation, second-degree criminal impersonation, fourth-degree grand larceny, two counts of second-degree unlawful imprisonment, and unauthorized use of a computer.
