Here are the top 3 stories today in Buffalo: A Buffalo woman has pleaded guilty in an attack that happened last summer over a mask mandate. 27-year-old Deshawna Taylor pepper-sprayed a medical office employee in August after the employee asked her to put on a face mask. Taylor faces up to a year in prison for the misdemeanor third-degree assault charge. (WBFO)A 10-year-old Buffalo Public Schools student returned to school for the first time in nearly two years on Tuesday. The family's lawyer says the fifth-grader, who has autism, was unable to attend classes while wearing a face shield due to the district's strict masking policy. BPS permitted the student to return to school after the family filed a federal lawsuit against the district under the Americans with Disabilities Act just a few weeks earlier. (WBFO)A film shot in Buffalo has been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture at the 2022 Oscars. "Nightmare Alley" was filmed in February 2020 and features multiple shots of Buffalo's historic architecture and cars from the Pierce Arrow Museum.
