Taylor faces up to a year in prison for the misdemeanor third-degree assault charge. (WBFO)A 10-year-old Buffalo Public Schools student returned to school for the first time in nearly two years on Tuesday. The family's lawyer says the fifth-grader, who has autism, was unable to attend classes while wearing a face shield due to the district's strict masking policy. BPS permitted the student to return to school after the family filed a federal lawsuit against the district under the Americans with Disabilities Act just a few weeks earlier.
