PERRY HALL, MD — One driver died and another was injured in a two-car crash on Belair Road Wednesday morning, according to police. Laura Sperry, 81, had been turning left onto Belair Road from Penn Avenue when she was hit by oncoming traffic around 7 a.m., officials said. Sperry, who had been behind the wheel of a 1997 Lincoln Town Car, died as a result, police said. The driver of the 1995 Toyota Camry that hit her was taken to an area hospital with injuries that officials said were minor. Belair Road was closed from Joppa Road to Pine Hill Avenue until 12:40 p.m., police said. The Baltimore County Police Department's Crash Team is still investigating.
