Here are the top 3 stories in Burlington today: South Burlington has changed its mask mandate. The City Council voted to extend the mandate but decided to make an adjustment to the order. An opt-out provision has been added that allows businesses to post a sign that says whether or not masks are required within their location. (WCAX)The City of South Burlington has received funding for a new Annual Winter Lights Festival to boost tourism within the region. The funding was given through the Vermont Department of Tourism and Marketing in an effort to aid economic recovery. The new festival will feature local musicians, handmade art, and local food vendors. (Vermont Biz)The City of Burlington is putting two bond articles up for a vote. The bond articles involve authorizing a $23,800,000 bond for capital improvements and a bond to approve a downtown TIF (Tax Increment Financing) district.
