Description
DENVER, CO — Regis University in North Denver lifted a shelter-in-place order Tuesday afternoon following a report of gunfire near campus.
Just before 1 p.m. Tuesday, the university said in a campus-wide alert there was a report of shots fired near Regis Boulevard and Knox Court.
"Persons on campus should go to a place of safety and lock themselves inside," the message said.
About 10 minutes later, campus safety confirmed the report was related to police activity on the 4900 block of King Street. The reported shots fired were actually tactical munitions, the university said.
"Regular campus operations may resume. There is no danger to the community," Regis said.
King Street remained blocked.
