NEW JERSEY — A missing Carlstadt resident was found at a hospital in Newark, police say. James Dugan II, 28, was reported missing on Feb. 1. Dugan's family told Carlstadt police that he planned to meet a woman in Newark on Jan. 27. He didn't show up for the meeting, prompting a search request from his family, according to the Newark Department of Public Safety. According to Newark public safety officials, the city's police special victim's unit was called to assist the Carlstadt Police Department in the search for Dugan on Feb. 4. Detectives helped to look for Dugan, visiting local hospitals to inquire about his whereabouts or see if they had any unidentified patients. When police visited University Hospital, they were told Dugan wasn't there. However, detectives later learned that he had been at the hospital since Jan. 28, authorities said.
