MIDDLESEX, NJ — The owner of a waste management company in Middlesex borough died Wednesday morning when he became pinned under the hydraulic arm of a garbage truck, said police.
Kenneth Buratti, the owner of Bridgewater Disposal, was found dead on site at the garbage company he owned.
At 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Middlesex borough police received a 911 call from an employee at Bridgewater Disposal, a garbage collection business located on South Raritan Avenue in Middlesex borough.
The employee told police that an individual was pinned under a piece of machinery.
When officers got there, they located the business owner Buratti, 67, pinned by the hydraulic arm attached to a garbage truck. Buratti had been doing maintenance work on the truck when it pinned him, said police.
He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Representatives from the Middlesex County Medical Examiner's Office and federal Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) responded. OSHA is now investigating the fatality.
Buratti was a Piscataway resident.
