Here are the top three stories in Franklin today: A Tennessee investigation has found that Franklin County schools have violated the Civil Rights Act. The State Department of Education Office for Civil Rights conducted a yearlong investigation that consisted of interviews with students, administrators, principals, and teachers and found a "racially hostile environment." The school system is currently working on a response to the state's findings. (News 4)The Downtown Franklin Association hosted its first Downtown Franklin Annual Awards last Thursday at The Harpeth Hotel. They awarded local businesses top prizes in the categories that included the best places for breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee, gifts, and more. (Williamson Herald)Studio Tenn in Franklin recently canceled the opening of its tribute to Aretha Franklin due to a COVID-19 outbreak among the company. The shows were slated to run from Feb. 10 - 20. The theater will still showcase its "Love Letters" show in mid-February.
