JERSEY CITY, NJ — U.S. Marshals arrested a Jersey City man, 30, in Arizona on Tuesday and charged him with sex crimes involving his 9-year-old daughter, the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office said. At least one of the crimes occurred while the man was stationed in Dubai as a member of the U.S. Air Force and involved sending explicit images and videos while the daughter was in Jersey City, prosecutors said. The U.S. Marshals Service Arizona Violent Offender Task Force, in conjunction with the New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force, charged the man with first-degree aggravated sexual assault, first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, two counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, second-degree sexual assault by contact, and second-degree attempted aggravated sexual assault. The man's name was withheld in order to protect the identity of the child. "The victim was between the ages of 8 and 9 at the time the crimes occurred," the Prosecutor's Office said. The man remains in custody in Arizona while awaiting extradition to New Jersey. Prosecutor Esther Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit and the United States Marshals Service with the investigation and arrest.
