PORTLAND, OR — It's clearly not an I-dill situation. Dillon T. Pickle is missing, apparently the victim of theft. The situation has left a very sour taste (or at least a half-sour taste) in the mouths of the Portland Pickles semi-pro baseball team. Dillon is their mascot. While some might be skeptical of the claim – after all, it wasn't that long ago many in the press were covering how Dillon "mistakenly" tweeted a photo of his "pickle" — the police say that they have a report was filed. And the team insists that this is for real. The Pickles say that Dillon had been in Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic for a series of games. He flew back on Delta, headed to JFK in New York and then back to Portland. Somewhere along the way, the bag containing Dillon went missing. By Tuesday, Delta found the bag, let the Pickles know and said they would drop him off at their what seems to be a home on Southeast 92nd Avenue. Ring video from the Pickles shows the bag was topped off at 7:15 p.m. Another Ring video shows the bag being stolen by a backpack-wearing mask whose face is covered. the man is also wearing headphones and his face is covered. "A very disappointing twist," the Pickles tweeted. Dillon was found by @Delta and delivered to our office after hours, with no notification. At 4:58AM, this person stole him off the front porch. This is turned from a mistake by @Delta to a crime." When someone on Twitter said, "hope this isn't the pickle who cried wolf," the Pickles replied: "this is real this time." They later wrote, "Seriously, he (referring to the thief) is going to tell someone that he stole a pickle mascot, that cannot be kept a secret. Do the right thing." Commissioner Jo Ann Hardesty said, "Portland, you have your orders. Help us find our beloved Dillon the Pickle!" The team says that they are offering a reward. No questions asked.
