PORTLAND, OR — It didn't exactly have the finesse of Ocean's 11. Federal officials say that on January 31, five men used a sledgehammer to break into a pawn shop where they stole 47 weapons. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives says that one of those people is under arrest and some of the guns have been recovered. Officials say that 38-year-old Kory Dean Boyd was arrested without incident after ATF agents got a search warrant for his home. They recovered eight weapons including seven from the pawn shop. Boyd admitted that he'd been involved in the robbery. It couldn't be learned if he is cooperating against the four others. ATF says that they were notified on January 31 of the robbery. People had used a sledgehammer to make two large holes in the concrete wall of the building. That gave them access to a room that contained dozens of weapons including pistols, revolvers, rifles, and shotguns. The thieves made off with 47 of them. Agents went through surveillance video and discovered that two cars had carried five men to the pawn shop over the two days before the robbery. Two of the men had what appeared to be a sledgehammer while others could be seen carrying firearms cases to their cars. Boyd is being held without bail.
